Chemico Advanced Materials has developed a “plastic resin non-crosslinked continuous extrusion foaming technology” to replace foamed PS, which is banned worldwide due to recycling and environmental hormone issues. This technology allows for the high-rate foaming of materials that have traditionally been difficult to foam-mold, such as PP and PET, as well as corn starch-based biodegradable PLA resin. As a result, the total plastic usage has been reduced by an average of about 35% compared to non-foamed PP, and greenhouse gas emissions have been cut by 24%. We have successfully commercialized this technology and have been supplying materials for GS Convenience Store's lunch boxes since 2023, with plans to supply easy-to-cook ramen containers for 7-11. Additionally, we are in discussions with various overseas companies for entry into the global market and are negotiating with leading domestic food companies.

High magnification foamed PP food container
This is the first high-rate micro-foamed PP food container in South Korea that achieves plastic source reduction. It is an environmentally friendly and innovative food packaging material that can replace existing styrofoam food containers, non-foamed PP food containers, and paper cups considered as waste.
